Bayonetta may sound a bit completely different in Bayonetta 3, and based on the unique voice of the Umbral Witch, it is intentional.
Hellena Taylor – who has voiced Bayonetta within the authentic two video games, an anime adaptation, and within the final three Smash Bros. video games – posted on her social media this morning that she wouldn’t reprise the position in Bayonetta 3 after being supplied US$4000 for the position as a remaining supply. Taylor is asking for a boycott of the sport – with the funds donated to charity – in consequence.
Prolific voice actress Jennifer Hale (Naomi Hunter within the Steel Gear Stable collection, the feminine Shepherd within the authentic Mass Impact trilogy, uncredited work as Samus Aran) is offering Bayonetta’s voice for Bayonetta 3.
For comparability, the usual union price for voice performing as “extra voices” is $200/hr with a 4 hour minimal. Nintendo and developer Platinum Video games haven’t commented on the state of affairs.
