Common Steam Deck compatibility with some EA video games has been spotty in current weeks, with Origin’s alternative launcher throwing a spanner within the works. Thankfully, Valve is working diligently to verify proprietary launchers stay suitable with the gaming PC, and now The Sims 4 and extra are lastly playable once more.

The brand new EA App hasn’t performed good with the Steam Deck because it launched again in November because of incompatibilities with the SteamOS Proton compatibility layer. This rendered a plethora of the writer’s video games incompatible with the hand-held PC, however Valve has since deemed them in any other case.

As highlighted by Gaming on Linux, the likes of The Sims 4, Battlefield 1, and Titanfall at the moment are ‘Playable’ on the system. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order joins these ranks too, so you might want to boot up the action-adventure sport once more whilst you await the Jedi Survivor launch date.

Gabe and his workforce are already working laborious on a Steam Deck 2, so there’s hope the corporate can provide the present iteration’s one thing of a spit shine. For now, we all know Valve is inquisitive about bettering the battery life and display, however a successor might have a few different surprises up its sleeve too.
