The Sony-Microsoft-Activision rift has taken a flip for the worst. Following the publication of a report from UK’s Competitors and Markets Authority (CMA) on the Microsoft Activision deal, an Activision Blizzard govt has accused Sony of admitting that it’s solely making an attempt to sabotage the merger.
Mud slinging over Microsoft Activision deal continues
The manager in query is none aside from Activision Blizzard’s EVP Company Affairs and CCO Lulu Cheng Meservey. On Twitter, she claimed that Sony Interactive Leisure CEO Jim Ryan mentioned throughout a current listening to in Brussels, “I don’t desire a new Name of Obligation deal. I simply wish to block your merger.”
Apparently, the aforementioned assertion was made on February twenty first.
The CEO of SIE answered that query in Brussels.
In his phrases:
“I don’t desire a new Name of Obligation deal. I simply wish to block your merger.”

It appears unlikely that Ryan would go on to make such an announcement on document, particularly contemplating that Sony has submitted 1000’s of pages arguing why it thinks the Microsoft Activision deal will hurt customers. Whether or not we agree with these arguments or not is one other matter.
CMA’s determination on the merger is predicted in April.
